United Way at a Glance

Why Give?

All across Etowah County there are people in need.  Families in need of financial security.  Children in need of mentors.  Citizens who need job training, and seniors who need home-delivered, nutritious meals.  Fortunately, in our community, there are people who are giving of their time, talents, and money. People who change lives by giving to United Way of Etowah County.

Everyone has their own personal reason to give. Why do you give?

So why give?  When we unite as one, with one voice, one purpose, and one mission, we can do amazing things. LIVE UNITED by coming together to make Etowah County a better place to live, work and play. Please consider a gift to United Way of Etowah County. Thank you for your support!

Credo

United Way fights for the health, education and financial stability of every person in Etowah County. We win by living United. By forging unlikely partnerships. By finding new solutions to old problems. By mobilizing the best resources. And by inspiring individuals to join the fight against our community’s most daunting social crises. We are more than fundraisers. We are hand-raisers. Gamechangers. When we Live United, we take on challenges and tackle problems in our community. Problems others shy away from.

Gold Seal

As you can see at the top of this page, United Way of Etowah County was recently awarded the 2022 Gold Seal of Transparency with Candid! The GuideStar Seal is the most widely adopted symbol of transparency in the U.S. social sector. According to an article from Candid, only about 5 percent of the more than 1.7 million nonprofits registered with the IRS have earned a Seal. Of this select group, only 20 percent have earned Gold. This shows what an honor it is us to have earned the coveted Gold Seal, and we could not have done this without all of our supporters, volunteers, and donors.
